Serenity Records is a new not-for-profit record label, aimed at raising essential awareness on the growing epidemic of mental health within the music industry, whilst also donating all proceeds of its project to various mental health charities. One of the key features of the project is to allow the artists commissioned for each EP to have the opportunity to select the particular charity that their work will support. So for 001, John Shima & Mihail P’s EP will support the work of Music Minds Matter – a charity unquestionably leading the way in making a difference to mental health issues in the music industry. The inaugural EP beautifully intertwines between floaty synth work and hypnotic percussion – adequately serving its purpose as a resource for music lovers looking to seek refuge away from whatever problems they may face.
